The Property know as "Villa des Remparts" is offered as a self-catering holiday 'gite' rental by the owners, Bruce and Kerry Robinson, to the Guest (the hirer) subject to the following terms and conditions...
1. No firm booking can be confirmed until the Owners have received a Booking Deposit of 150 Euros per week (or foreign currency equivalent) from the Guest or payment in full if the rental period is within eight weeks; however a provisional booking will be held for 7 days and then cancelled if the deposit is not received. Note: rates and terms are subject to change at any time until a firm booking has been confirmed.
2. The balance payable, together with a standard Security Deposit of 150 Euros per week (or foreign currency equivalent) must be received by the Owners not less than eight (8) weeks before the start of the rental period. No reminder will be sent. If payment is not received by the due date, the Owners reserve the right to cancel the booking and the Booking Deposit will not be refunded.
3. The Guest is responsible for the Property and its contents during the rental period and will be liable for any costs incurred by the Owners for any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly from any act or default of the Guest or members of his/her Party. The Guest agrees to leave the Property and its contents in a clean and tidy condition. All losses must be replaced by similar articles. The Guest and Party also agree not to act in any way which would endanger themselves or others and cause disturbance to those resident in neighboring properties. The number of persons residing in the Property must not exceed 6 persons. Well trained pets are welcome and there is a NO SMOKING policy inside the Property (house).
4. The Guest shall report without delay to the Owner's agent any defects in the Property or breakdown of equipment or appliances, in which case arrangements for repair will be made as soon as possible.
5. The Security Deposit is primarily to cover any damage to the Property, its contents and/or loss to the Owners. This sum shall not limit the Guest's liability to the Owners. The Security Deposit will be refunded by post to the Guest within 30 days after completion of the rental period, provided that there are no breakages or damages, all keys have been returned, and that the Property is not left in an unacceptable condition, in which case a special cleaning surcharge may apply. Electricity meter overages (free allowance of 45 units per week) will be charged at 1 euro per unit and will be deducted from the Security Deposit (average consumption is 38 units per week).
6. Deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the Guest. If, after the balance has been paid, the Guest has to cancel the booking, the weekly rate can be refunded only if the accommodation is re-let at the same rate. The Guest is encouraged to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy, including cancellation coverage, and to have full coverage for personal belongings, public liability, etc. as these are not covered by the Owner's insurance.
7. The rental period shall commence on a Saturday at 4 p.m. on the first day and finish on a Saturday at 10 a.m. on the last day unless otherwise agreed.
8. The Owners shall not be liable to the Guest or any member of his/her party in respect of: a) any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, terrorism, transportation delays, strikes or other incidents beyond the control of the Owners. b) any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property, nor in respect of any equipment or appliance in the Property. c) any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Guest should the Owners have to cancel the booking and in such an event the Owners will refund all monies received to the Guest. Under no circumstances shall the Owner's liability to the Guest exceed the amount paid to the Owners for the rental period.
